When Spotlight Retail Group wanted to showcase its top-performers and innovative staff throughout Asia-Pacific it turned to Production Associates to deliver its annual awards dinner.
To celebrate the event’s 42nd year and highlight 20 years of the Melbourne-based retail giant operating in New Zealand, the business invited store managers and suppliers from throughout Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore to Auckland – marking the first time Spotlight had crossed the Tasman to hold its annual conference.
And the pinnacle of the four-day conference was a Sunday night awards dinner for 240 guests, for which PA designed, created and delivered a Kiwiana-themed, red carpet event at the waterfront ANZ Viaduct Events Centre.
After discovering PA through Conventions & Incentives New Zealand, Spotlight worked alongside coordinator Jördis Renz for three months – including two trans-Tasman site visits, a mid-project venue change and regular emails and phone calls – to create an experience that mixed the formality of the awards ceremony with entertainment and impeccable dining.
Spotlight’s Talent & Leadership Development Manager Gillian Brooks said the night was “hailed a fantastic success” and thanked Jördis and the PA team for their “outstanding support and guidance”.
“Being held internationally could have been a disaster but I felt like we had it in hand at all times,” Gillian said. “Jördis, you went the extra mile to understand and deliver what was requested. The production support on the night was second-to-none and we will certainly look forward to working with the PA team again in the future in any country!”
